“Architecture doesn’t just create solutions for buildings—it makes our lives easier, builds connections, respects the living environment, and reflects the people who live and work within it.”

About
ORA Architecture was founded by Michael Wentland who is a New York State Registered Architect and Building Performance Institute Certified Building Analyst based in the Hudson Valley, where he combines over two decades of hands-on experience with a deep passion for efficiency, sustainability, and thoughtful design. Known for his creative energy, technical expertise, life-long commitment to learning, and dedication to client relationships, Michael and his team of designers brings a uniquely human-centered approach to every project—whether it’s a luxury residence, a community facility, or the adaptive reuse of an historic structure.
Michael’s architectural background spans decades. From conceptual design to construction administration, and with a strong focus on high-performance building systems, energy efficiency, and renewable integration, Michael has led multidisciplinary teams with great success. Within his tenure, he has managed complex projects from basic idea to final execution. He has worked at the college level teaching architecture, and building design & craftsmanship while incorporating sustainable construction practices to the next generation of designers and builders. He is skilled in developing advanced 3D modeling, visual storytelling, and speaking at community presentations—making project designs both accessible and engaging for both clients and stakeholders.
ORA Architecture is driven by a simple belief: Great design should serve the aesthetic of beauty and balance, the people that inhabit the spaces of what we create, and the planet from which architecture owes everything. Through ORA Architecture, Building Science Group, LLC, and in partnership with a network of Structural & Mechanical Engineers, Michael continues to push for smarter/greener, and more beautiful architectural solutions—always with a sense of purpose, and strives for a bit of fun along the way!
Outside of Architecture, ORA Architecture and team are staying active in the Mid-Hudson Valley community by volunteering on several important boards & committees. The ORA Architecture team stays focused on giving through design, and doing our best to offer our skills for more fulfilling living environments for all.
